L3 Award Paediatric Emergency First Aid at Work

The 1 day Level 3 Paediatric First Aid course is perfect for those who care for infants and children. It is important people in the following occupations:

• Primary and Secondary School teachers and assistants
• Child nursery care workers
• After school activity workers
• Child care workers (Au-pairs, childminders and nannies)
• Parents and other family members

This course is designed for care of infants (up to 12 months old) and children (from 12 months to 18 years).

Syllabus

A range of subjects are covered including:

• Responsibilities and reporting
• Resuscitation
• Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
• Minor injuries
• Assessment of the situation
• Epilepsy
• Wounds and bleeding
• Anaphylaxia and Shock

Certification

Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a written assessment. A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (Level 6 in Scotland) will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
